My 80 yr old mother will shortly be undergoing surgery for which I believe she may need some in-home care afterwards. She has two kinds of insurance (Medicare and a supplement), with no assets to speak of. Does anyone know how I go about finding out what she might be entitled to vis-a-vis in-home care? I’ve read a bit online, but between long-term care, short-term care, home-health care, custodial care, palliative care, Medicare parts A,B,C, and D, and blah, blah, blah….you get the picture. And what if she needs care on a more regular basis, depending on how this all turns out? Overall, I feel like I’m in a bit over my head. Any guidance out there? And thanks for your answers.

I’m the only son of my Parents and I am debating whether I should get long term care for my parents or get health insurance. What are the benefits of both? Also is NYL good? Last question is that if the Long term care proposal says that they will pay $300/day/person (2 people)for in-home care, would you be able to find a good nurse that would properly take care?

My grand daughter stuck her little finger & nail directly IN my eyeball, puncturing it. I woke up this morning and it is still bleeding. Is there any home care I can do? I don’t have health insurance, and very little money. Tx

She was told she is level four care. She is at sons home ad his wife takes care of her. She refuses to get ready on her own ie bath, eat do things he can do but is honory about. Wife is exhausted and at her wits end. They looked into care home it was 7000 a month and they can’t afford that. Is there somewhere her insurance will pay for?
